Arts and Crafts

Generally, I would not consider myself to be a very crafty person. I wish I had more time to learn to sew or crochet or do some of these neat things that my mom and mom in law do. Something about having a baby has made me long to be more creative. I actually have a baby book mostly completed and photos organized for once. Granted, it is easier to do things while I'm on maternity leave. I had been putting off on the final nursery decorations until we found out if "tater tot" was a boy or girl.
Now that we know tater's name to be Owen, I was ready to tackle a little craft project. I wanted to have those cute wall letters spelling out his name. At first I was going to buy them, but the prices were obscene and they didn't have the colors to match his nursery. So off to Jo Ann's I went to do it myself.
I purchased wood letters, paint, and various brushes to complete my task. Of couse the only time to complete such detailed tasks with a newborn was during his longest sleep period. I was up that night until a record 1 am! That is the lastest hour I have seen in many months. I armed myself with my brushes and newspaper for mess control (and my peanut butter pretzels for a snack) and got to work.

Here is the finished product. I must say I am quite proud of my little craft project. Maybe I should quit my job as a PT and make wall letters and sell them for obscene prices on the internet. On second thought, it would require me to stay up entirely too late.
