We had another great Christmas this year. We were able to go to Horseheads for a long weekend this year, which was a very nice change. Normally, we're rushing around from place to place trying to get everything in. This year we could relax and take our time (somewhat.)
I don't know if our families were prepared for US to be there that long (j/k)
Christmas Eve we went to church and then met Sara, Kevin, and the kiddos back at Gammy and Gampy's house. The girls were very busy the next day so we celebrated Christmas a little early. It was nice being able to focus on the kids for the night. You can see all the presents behind Natalie and Kendall and assume that they did very well.
Nolan was much better at opening gifts this year. Sara only had to help him a little bit. He's getting to be a big boy now.
Speaking of big boys, here's Mr. Alex. Christmas morning we went over to Jenn and Sam's to watch their kids open presents.
Here's Gracie showing off her new backpack. She starts school very soon!
After the kids all opened, the adults got their turn. Dennis got some tools, clothes, a running watch, and a Yankees Christmas train. I got a remote car starter, maternity clothes, and makeup. We both also got money and gift cards, which we will definitely use.
My mom is surprised here by her bling-bling earrings. My dad was also surprised a few minutes later by his long-awaited snowblower.
After all the Christmas celebrations, we spent some time with family having fun. We had a dinner and Wii night with just the girls one night. We got pizza and raced each other at Mario Cart.
We had extra controllers, so 4 of us were able to play at a time and we all got in on the action.
We also got to see friends while we were home. One nice part about visiting during the holidays is that all the out-of towners converge in Horseheads. We went out for coffee and dessert with Riz and Tahera and got to catch up with them. After that, we went out in Hanover Square and it was a mini high school reunion. It was very strange to see all these people we hadn't seen in 9 years.
It was a mostly great Christmas, but there was a couple bad notes unfortunately. Dennis's grandma was in the hospital the whole weekend so she didn't get to enjoy the celebrations with everyone. We were able to visit and exchange gifts at the hospital, but it wasn't the same. She is home and feeling much better now. Our last day in Horseheads, I got ill myself and had a bad stomach flu. I had to miss a couple days of work but I am feeling better too.

It was awesome spending some time with you while you were home. It was too bad you got sick, at least it was the last day. Next year will certainly be different, but in a good way. I can't wait to spend next Xmas with you and my new niece/nephew. Love ya!
Happy and Healthy 2009 to everyone!
