Where has summer gone?

I know, I know we have not posted an update for a few weeks. Things have been pretty busy here in Kenmore, NY. Between our work schedules, one of is coming as the other is going.
We have been trying to enjoy the last little bit of summer that is left. The pool has been a consistent 80 degrees, we have had almost every meal on the deck and each spend a lot of time outside with Molly.
Last weekend, we decided it was time to get back in the groove of working on the house.
You know those projects you want to get done, but do not really care about when you initially move in? Well, this past weekend we set out to tackle the jungle, I mean, the garden along the driveway.

While some of us were working hard pulling out weeds, ivory and digging up random little tree's from the garden.....

Others were sunning themselves on the deck with a refreshing drink.......

Molly is definitely keeping us busy. She is already "Daddy's Little Girl." Molly seems to only act up when Teresa is around. For example, the other night, Molly was sitting near the computer as Teresa was using it and as Teresa looked at Molly, she started to piddle. When Teresa and I are sitting on the couch, Molly is always trying to jump up on Teresa and will nibble at Teresa's toes constantly. I guess Molly just knows who is the boss of the house.

As for the rest of the house.....We still need to paint the two spare bedrooms and my "Man Room" has yet to be touched. This week I decided to finally put molding in the master bedroom and dining room. Once I had bought some new toys from Sears, I suddenly became very excited to cut molding with my Craftsman 9 Amp 7-1/4 in. Compound Miter Saw with Bonus Blades and install molding with my Craftsman Electric Brad Nailer. (I know the male readers out there will appreciate the tools and I know the female readers are rolling their eyes).

Stay tuned for more updates.

On a more serious note....

Those that live back home in the 'Heads should already know this, but this past weekend an old high school friend of mine and track team mate, Dana Carr, was in a horrible bicycle accident in Albany, NY. While he was biking with his good friend Dave Benyo, a motorcycle came over a hill and hit Dana head-on. Unfortunately, the motorcycle driver was killed at the scene. Dana was airlifted to the local hospital where he is currently with many broken bones and fighting to survive. Dana is probably one of, if not, the strongest and most determined person I have ever met in my life. Dana doesn't give up! So please keep Dana and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time.

The family has created a blog to keep everyone updated on Dana's progress: http://danacarrupdate.blogspot.com/.
