New York, New York

There's nothing like a getaway. Even if it is for a few days. A couple weeks ago, Dennis and I decided to pack our bags and take a weekend trip to New York City. We have been to the city a few times before, but have never really had time to wander around, sightsee, and shop. There's always been a Yankees game, a Broadway show, a class to meet, or a bus to catch before we really got the chance to see the city. We joined our good friends Rizwan and Tahera and off we went to NY with nothing planned (which most of you know is a very tough thing for Dennis to do!)

Our hotel was very close to the hustle and bustle of Times Square. We planned this trip a few months ago, imagining a very cold January weekend with hats and gloves and quickly shuffling from store to store. Instead we got record high temps of 70 degrees, which was a little freakish. You will notice we are not wearing coats in this picture.

Fortunately, the big Christmas tree was still up in Rockefeller Center. This is one thing that I have always really wanted to see. It is huge in person and has thousands of lights on it. Dennis looks so happy in this picture because we had just come from Nintendo World and he and Riz got to play the Wii.

We did alot of shopping. I had my first Sephora experience and Dennis even got a new Yankees jersey. We got to see FAO Schwartz, which was a wonderland for kids and adults alike. One of my favorite parts was taking a carriage ride through Central Park.

...and coffee breaks are always fun too
