Oh where, oh where to go?

It is time for an "interactive" post.
Teresa and I are trying to decide on a vacation spot from June 27th-July3rd. We would like to open this up to our readers and have you offer suggestions on where we should spend this week. We have come up with some ideas, but feel there are places we can visit that we may not be thinking of.
So if you have a destination that you have visited or think we should visit, leave it in the comments section of this post.

A wedding, a visit, and a holiday

Happy Memorial Day to all! I love Memorial Day weekend because it's the unofficial start to summer. The extra day off of work is also a definite plus...We have had a busy couple weeks with traveling and working and such.

Last weekend, I had the honor of being a bridesmaid in Jodi and John's wedding. For those of you who don't know, Jodi was my roomate in college for 4 years and remains a very close friend.

The wedding was very fun. As you can see, Dennis enjoyed himself with all the ladies (including myself of course!)
My mom and dad also came to visit this weekend. They are too cute with their matching Buffalo T-shirts. Since my mom has been out of comission for the past year with foot surgeries, it was the first time they had seen the house. We went on a tour, out to dinner, to the casino, and even Niagara Falls.
Of course they had to test out the Wii. Mariocart was the favorite this weekend.

We had to take in the Memorial Day parade this morning. It was quite an extensive show. They don't throw candy anymore at these parades. When did this happen? I don't like it one bit.
We took a nice long bike ride this afternoon. Poor Dennis...he ran a half marathon yesterday and I had him out there pushing the pedals today because I'm in running withdrawl. He held up pretty well.We rode for about 2 hours along the river and Lake Erie. We went through some parks, some neighborhoods, and of course stopped for ice cream. It looked like it was going to storm for awhile, but luckily the rain held off. Beautiful day!
The coolest part was coming across this broken down old building. We had no clue what this was ever used for, but it looked pretty sweet.

The inside was all covered in graffiti, but here you can see where a spiral staircase used to be.

Hope your first weekend of summer was good! We are going to start up the grill and have the traditional Memorial Day cookout now. Enjoy!

Weeks pack full of fun!

The last few weeks we have been pretty busy here in the Queen City. We have had visitors, working in the yard, some minor home repairs and enjoying each other's company.

A few weekends back, our friends, Ben and Cheryl from NYC, were in town visiting. A bunch of us met at the Buffalo Brew Pub for some cold drinks and then the four us still had some life in us for midnight cosmic bowling.
Some say we are twins or the same person....Personally, I do not see it....
Mama and Papa Hall made a visit to our neighbors to the North and spent the weekend at Niagara on the Lake. T and I met up with them one day to visit some wineries and have lunch. It was a beautiful weekend to be spending at the wineries. Later the next day on their way out of town, Mama and Papa Hall stopped by the house to see some new improvements, such as the famous Man Room. While they were here, we introduced them to the Nintendo Wii...rather than start them at Guitar Hero III, we started them out with Wii Bowling...

If memory serves me right, I think Mama Hall beat Papa Hall. I smell a rematch!

Now that the weather is finally in full spring mood we are able to do one of our favorite things. That's right.....grilling on the deck! I have finally joined the rest of the 'normal' workforce with 7am-4pm, M-F hours. So nights like these will be much more of a constant! With the nice weather finally here, we can now do yard work (which Estella, aka my truck, has been very helpful with) . We are in the process of redoing all the landscaping this summer. So far the perimeter of the pool has been weeded and mulched and new bushes have been planted in the front of the house. (More pics to follow).
Unfortunately, we have also had to perform a small home repair.

Yes, that is a water spot on the ceiling.

Last weekend, T and I spent our weekends differently. I went to the Cleveland with some buddies to watch the Yanks (yes, my curse of not seeing the Yankees win is still holding strong) and T hosted a bachelorette party at our house. These were our seats in right field of The Jake, well, now Progressive Field.

Stayed tuned for more updates!
